The school feeding programme is now in full swing, with attendance records soaring since its implementation!
Recognising that many children struggled to concentrate or stay awake in class due to the lack of regular meals, Dennis took action.
An incredible Achievement
The Lumule Primary school kitchen project didn’t come without challenges from regular funding to accessing the village with materials during rainy season. However, with a dedicated team of eight working tirelessly for six months, the kitchen building was restored with functional catering facilities, an office, and storeroom for the food supplies ready for the new school feeling programme to begin, officially opened by Dennis on July 13th, 2023.

We imported energy-efficient stoves from Nairobi, hired a skilled kitchen team, and stocked the storeroom with enough food to feed over 800 hungry children for four months.
The kitchen team, led by a head chef and three supporting cooks, has provided breakfast and lunch to the students every day, a programme that also extends its benefits to the teachers and security guards.
Since implementing the feeding programme, attendance records have reached an all-time high. Enrollment at the school has seen a significant boost as parents no longer have to worry about their children going hungry while they learn, and the students’ attitudes and concentration have greatly improved.
This incredible achievement came at an estimated final cost of around £36,000, made possible entirely through your generous contributions. Thank you so much for your support!
